At QNET, we believe in celebrating milestones not just with grandeur but also with a conscience. Our 25th anniversary celebration and V-Convention 2023 was not just about showcasing our achievements but also about aligning with our core values – sustainability and responsibility. Our commitment extends to supporting the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). As a corporation, we recognise our capacity and responsibility to push for systematic change and are dedicated to creating a positive impact on a global scale.
Let’s take a look at the spectacular sustainability initiatives that marked this momentous occasion.
V-Convention 2023: A Grand Celebration with a Green Touch
The stage was set in Penang for #VMalaysia2023, where over 20,000 attendees from more than 20 countries gathered for a double convention in September. Amidst the glitz and glamour, we celebrated 25 years in the business while simultaneously showcasing our unwavering commitment to a healthy lifestyle and environmental stewardship.
1. Introducing Sustainable Innovations
We proudly launched two standout products that exemplify our green commitment. The HomePure Nova with Pi-Plus Cartridge, an improved version of our best-selling water filtration system, promises improved hydration and fortified antioxidant benefits in your drinking water. The Bernhard H. Mayer OMNI Watch Collection, crafted with eco-friendly materials and certified by LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design), shows that luxury and sustainability can indeed go hand in hand.
2. A Green Approach to Every Aspect
Our commitment to sustainability went beyond product launches. Every facet of the event embodied sustainability. Here’s a quick list of everything we did to meet our sustainability promises:
- We partnered with environmentally responsible vendors for booth construction.
- We eliminated single-use plastics.
- We minimised printed materials through digital alternatives like QR Codes
- Even the venue, the Setia SPICE Convention Centre in Penang, played its part as the world’s first hybrid solar-powered convention centre and Green Building Index certified.
- The centre has also implemented initiatives such as bottling drinking water in-house, waste segregation, and rainwater harvesting to support its net zero goals.
3. Offsetting Our Carbon Footprint
Taking a step further towards environmental stewardship, we pledged to plant 2,500 trees in Malaysia to offset the event’s carbon footprint. It’s our way of giving back to the world that sustains us.
Continuing Our Commitment to SDGs
At QNET, our journey doesn’t end here. We’re committed to sustainability and the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). QNET Chief Impact Officer Malou Caluza said it best, “With our commitment to innovation, sustainability, and global community-building, QNET is poised to not only adapt but thrive in the dynamic landscape of wellness and lifestyle, offering unparalleled opportunities for entrepreneurship and personal development to individuals around the world.”
A Bright and Green Future
V-Convention 2023 was the biggest and grandest embodiment of our commitment to sustainability. From product launches to eco-conscious initiatives, we are dedicated to promoting a healthy lifestyle while reducing our environmental impact. We’ve taken steps to offset our carbon footprint, and our commitment to sustainability doesn’t end here.
